The Visual Art of Love and Forgiveness - August 22 – October 17, 2010 at The Carnegie Center for the Arts, 107 N. Main St. Three Rivers, MI - This art exhibit gives visual shape to the themes of love and forgiveness as expressed through sacred and spiritual art. The arts have the power to serve as a visual witness to the truth, thereby allowing healing and reconciliation to take root. The visual arts can convey a source of hope which nourishes love among people, enabling us to achieve our fullest potential. Most of all the arts can be a means to make the invisible visible, to show us in concrete ways how love and forgiveness can help us to transcend our brokenness and to achieve healing and wholeness. 12 local artists will exhibit their works using a variety of forms.
The exhibit will also feature carvings of two Santos (saints) collections from the New Mexico religious tradition. Admission is free.
Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 am – 5 pm, Saturday, 10 am – 3 pm. Closed on Sundays except for the opening reception on Sunday, August 22nd, 2-4pm. and the closing on Sunday, October 22, Noon-5pm. Closed on Mondays.
