Men’s Annual Conference scheduled for Feb. 26
The 2011 Kalamazoo Catholic Men’s Conference will return to Hackett Catholic Central High School on Saturday, February 26th. The day will begin with 8 a.m. Mass with Bishop Paul J. Bradley presiding. Bishop Bradley will also give the welcoming talk. Featured speakers include Bob Lockwood, former president of Our Sunday Visitor and current Director of Communications for the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Lockwood is also the author of the newly released book entitled A Guys’ Guide to the Good Life–Virtues for Men. Lockwood will speak on the cardinal virtues — prudence, justice, temperance and fortitude — and how they are our guide to living. “They are the key,” Lockwood says, “to not only how we should live, but how we want to live in our heart of hearts. The good life, he adds, is within our grasp, far better and much more fun then the benign mediocrity that the world seems intent on calling us to.”
Additional speakers included Rev. Todd LaJiness, Academic Dean at Sacred Heart Seminary, Detroit and Rev. Lawrence Farrell, pastor, St. Monica Parish, Kalamazoo.
Cost of the conference is $35 (or $40 at the door) and participants may register online at: www.cmfkazoo.org.
