2007-2008 Audit Report Directions

This year’s audit requires more complete information from and about parishes. Rather than have auditors do parish audits we have opted to do it ourselves. Most of the information is what we have asked for in the past, and new forms have been added. These forms describe standards that we want all parishes and schools to meet.

Please read these directions carefully as changes have been made.

Step One: read complete directions and then open the audit workbook.

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THE FORMAT OF THE WORKBOOK

Step Two: Answer the narrative portion of the audit.

Step Three: Complete the Audit schedules.

  • List current employees and volunteers on the appropriate schedule.
  • Indicate whether or not those people need the training and/or a background check.
  • Schedule D –Include total enrollment, number trained, number opting out. A child is considered trained if they attended at least one Teaching Touching Safety lesson.
  • Schedule E – Include all scout troops who either meet at the school or parish or are chartered by the school or parish.

Step Four: Email schedules to mjdoerr@dioceseofkalamazoo.org by July 15, 2008. As always schedules must be emailed. Faxed, mailed or otherwise transmitted reports are not accepted.

The 07-08 End of the Year Audit workbook must be completed. All other forms will not be accepted and will be returned.

Note:
Since a preliminary report was filed in October all parishes and schools have had ample time to get everyone in compliance. If a parish or school has someone who is not yet registered on Virtus or does not yet have a background check recorded on Virtus, that person is to be suspended immediately. The only exception to that are new parishioners who have not had time to get the requirements completed.
