

The Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting working under the guidance of the Office of Evangelization, Catechesis and Initiation works in support of youth and adults involved in Girl Scout, Boy Scout, American Heritage Girls and Camp Fire programs whether in parish units or units not chartered to Catholic organizations.
Catholic religious emblems and recognitions allow young people to explore and learn more about their Catholic faith within the context of their scouting experience. Adult awards recognize outstanding leadership and promotion of spiritual development within Scouting. There are also special recognitions for Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops.Annual Events and Important Deadlines:
Catholic Scouting Celebration of Faith - For all Catholic Scouts (Boy Scout, Girl Scout, Camp Fire and American Heritage Girls) in grades 1-8. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at Rota Kiwan Scout Reservation.Annual Diocesan Scout Mass with Bishop Bradley- Sunday, April 25, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at St. Monica Parish, 534 W. Kilgore Rd, Kalamazoo.
Registration deposit is due Oct. 31, 2009 for the 2010 Great Lakes Catholic Encampment for Boy Scouts, July 25 – 31, 2010.
