Questions about Retreats
What is a RETREAT?
A time to get away from daily life, to come closer to God. Each retreat
has a theme the often comes from the Bible but may also be from holidays
and other parts of life. The weekend is spent talking with each other about
this theme. Crafts and other activities that help to understand the theme
are a part of the weekend. Of course there is also good food, new friends,
games and time to relax.
Who can go on RETREAT?
Adults and teens with developmental disabilities are invited to come on
retreat.
What is the cost of RETREAT?
The fee for the weekend is $30.00 and covers housing, food and activities.
There are scholarships for those who need them. The cost is low because
this activity is subsidized by the Knights of Columbus.
Is there help with rides to RETREAT?
We can give you names and phone numbers of people from your area who are
coming.
What about help with personal care while on RETREAT?
Volunteers are happy to help with simple needs such as hair combing, getting
shoes on right, packing suitcases etc. Limited help with more extensive
needs such as help with using the bathroom, dressing and bathing is available.
Call Ministry with Persons with to be sure your needs can be met.
What about medication?
All medication must be noted on the resgistration form and given to the
retreat director when you get to the retreat house.
When does retreat begin and end?
Plan to come between 7:00-8:00 pm on Friday. Pick up is between 12:00-1:00
pm on Sunday.
What should I bring?
